Twins are super fun to photograph! And we have been fortunate to have photographed many many sets of senior twins over the past 11 years of Toni Burks Photography. We always give our twins the choice of having separate session times or combining their session and getting individual and together images in the same locations.
Cristina and Caitlyn decidedly chose the latter and we couldn’t have been happier. They wanted to have their senior photos at the Dallas Arboretum. And while it’s true we’ve taken a lot of twin pictures, we have NOT had the pleasure of shooting at the arboretum. So the week before, we went down there to check it out. It was a prime fall day, gorgeous light and weather. All decorated for fall, their favorite season and the girls were hoping to get some shots at the pumpkin patch.
So on session day we arrived at our meeting location only to discover that on a fall Sunday afternoon the Arboretum can give Walt Disneyworld a run for it’s money and the lines to get in ONE HOUR before closing were winding around the parking lot. Thanks to Roger’s ninja planning skills we got right in and had plenty of time for our session.
It seemed a little chaotic as we were dodging the crowds, but the magic of photography is a beautiful thing! I love how the twins interact with one another. They draw strength and support for one another. They elicit laughter and humor from one another. This bond they share is close, rare, lovely. Yet as individuals, they are strong and complete. I enjoy observing and attempting to capture it. Beauty.
From the arboretum, we went to the shores of White Rock Lake to watch the sun set and get some pictures and reflect on the day.
We are honored to have photographed these two beautiful Carroll Seniors. Thank you both for spending the day with us. We wish you the best at UT!
